How We Helped Carey & Valerie Buy their First Investment Property in Adamstown

Carey and Valerie were first time investors who were struggling to define their investment strategy, decide on the right asset type and location, and most of all dedicate the time to the property search itself.

The Hurdles

Carey and Valerie were both working full-time and had young children, so they didn't have a lot of time to research the property market. They also didn't know what type of investment property they wanted to buy. They were considering units, houses & townhouses in multiple locations and began suffering from analysis paralysis – too many options!

The Process

We got to work, helping them establish their investment goals before applying our research and experience in the Newcastle property market to identify the asset types that would help them reach those goals. We then got to work with the property search itself. With the plan in place, we knew exactly the metrics required and could niche down on key locations. Across the journey, we sourced multiple off-market properties, inspected those properties on Carey & Valerie’s behalf and completed our due diligence reporting to mitigate their exposure to unknown risks. All while they continued to focus on their other commitments.

I remember one weekend we inspected a property and sat at the Furnleigh café to discuss its potential. They’d just come from one of the kids soccer games and were due at another within the hour. With our help, the property search could continue while their lives carried on.

The Result

Carey and Valerie settled on a high quality, three-bedroom townhouse in one of Newcastle's most sought after suburbs, walking distance to a reputable school and on the suburbs most premier street, all within 10 weeks of engagement. The property yielded very strongly for an inner-city location and has out-performing future growth prospects given its uniqueness.
